During a downpour, a generous ronin and his supporting wife are stranded at a country inn. The ronin comes to the attention of a lord who wants to hire him as an instructor for his men, who treat the ronin with disrespect.
Sayaka works as a property agent. One day after work, she finds a man, named Itsuki, collapsed outside her house. She takes him in and they start to live together. Itsuki teaches her about cooking and plants, but holds many secrets.
The ronin, Sako Kanbei has to rescue the beautiful Princess Tsubaki from danger while young samurai of the Numata Clan stand up against their corrupt Chief Retainer and evil clan mistress.
